The services offered by GLE in these areas of practice cover matters governed by the National Constitution and the international treaties which prevail over Argentine laws. Services include advice on new investments – particularly private sector investments in the public sector – and on foreign investment (e.g., ICSID) and integration treaties, among other relevant matters, including:
I. constitutional rights and guarantees; the activities of the branches of government at the National, Provincial and Municipal level, and particularly, the new constitutional institutions introduced with the 1994 constitutional reform;
II. the hierarchy of international treaties over Argentine laws, including foreign investment and integration treaties;
III. the preservation of natural resources and the environment at the federal, provincial or municipal level; anti-trust protectionl;
IV. the defense of market competition;
V. authorizations for new investments, acquisitions, consolidation or mergers;
VI. efficiency and quality control of public services;
VII. provincial and municipal police power;
VIII. consumer and user protection;
IX. private initiative for the public sector (at the federal or provincial level);
X. regulations on telecommunications, oil, gas, and electricity supply;
XI. negotiation of sovereign debt and different financing methods;
XII. public regulations on the institutions of business law and capital markets, such as underwriting, leasing, trust, trust assignment, and securitization.
